When I first got into photography (March of 2010), I was literally shooting everything…flowers, railings, telephone poles…really anything or anyone that would let me take their picture (the telephone pole didn’t take much convincing). But I had a dream to be a wedding photographer someday. I didn’t know and couldn’t even imagine how many years it would take for me to get to that point.  But in the meantime, I read books and blogs, forums and manuals…anything to just keep learning. I admired many talented wedding photographers and was simply amazed every time they would blog a new wedding they photographed! I had no idea when I would get to that point and photograph my first wedding, because that would mean someone going out on a limb and completely trusting me with the biggest day of their life. I was a brand-spanking newbie! A rookie with a “nice” camera! But, that someone came along sooner than I could’ve ever imagined, and I photographed my first wedding last summer! Nine weddings later…boy was I right…photographing a wedding is everything I dreamed it would be! I can’t even put into words the excitement that comes when I’m photographing someone’s special day!

When I first decided that photographing weddings was my “photography dream”, I couldn’t even explain why…Why weddings? Why spend 10+ hours on a weekend photographing (and many, many more hours later editing)? I guess my only reasoning behind it was simply the fact that I love “love,” I love weddings, I love being married and I love being reminded, every wedding, the joy I felt the day I married my best friend! I absolutely love being able to share in that same excitement with each one of my brides!

What can I say? I’m a sucker for love. I’ve been that way since I crushed on my husband in 6th grade! And now, being married to the man that completes me and who can’t go a couple minutes without putting a smile on my face, I just can’t help but get excited about photographing another couple…head over heels in love and ready to begin their lives together!

All that to say, I specialize in weddings. I am a wedding and lifestyle photographer. I say lifestyle because that is how I view my engagement sessions, capturing the authenticity of their relationship and love for one another. I want my clients to be able to look back at their images 20 years from now and see the love and excitement they shared at this stage of their lives! It’s the sweet laughs, the soft looks, and the genuine kisses that are real and authentic, and it’s those moments that get me excited about what I do!
