With Mike heading back to work this past week, it was so nice having him home again this weekend with Emily! Friday night, we had friends come over to visit Miss Emily and bring us some Chick-fil-A for dinner! Saturday, we stayed in bed until about noon – though it’s not quite as glorious as it may sound, we were up at 3, 7:30 and 10:30 to feed and change Emily, but we just chose to stay in bed and go back to sleep until noon in between those feedings. Then, after showering (a huge accomplishment these days!), my sweet friend and college roommate came over for a nice visit! Probably the hardest thing for me these last couple of weeks has been feeling stuck inside. At first, I didn’t really want to go anywhere because I was still recovering, and now it’s hard to go anywhere without knowing how Emily will do and trying to schedule things around her feeding times. BUT, we finally got out Saturday night for a trip to Coldstone! Yay for ice cream and surviving an outing with a baby! Sunday morning, we were in bed pretty late again getting all the sleep we can get! We are excited to be able to make it to church again soon, but aren’t quite ready for the unpredictability of Emily and all the attention. Maybe next week? Mike got some work done around the house (just a couple little things we’ve been wanting to finish up) then we headed out AGAIN (look at us go!) to the park to play around with Elly and get some sunshine and fresh air! Later Sunday night, our friends Steve and Krista stopped by for a visit, and we ended our night and weekend with some Flip or Flop and more ice cream (with Sarris hard cap, of course)! So sad to see Mike go back to work today! And since my mom was with me last week, this is my first official day/week on my own with Emily…wish me luck, friends!
