To bring in February (actually that wasn’t the reason, but it sure did make for a fresh start to the month), the staff had a prayer and fasting retreat yesterday. (For those of you that don’t know, I work as the missions coordinator at my church).We spent the morning and afternoon in worship, followed by small group prayer time, then 2 hours of alone time with God. I left that time more refreshed than I can ever remember…. being able to put my busy life aside and just listen to God and read His Word. I feel refreshed knowing that God is in control, and that all of the change over the past 6 months for Mike and I was all fully ordained by God.

January was a busy month for me. I spent a lot of time setting goals for my business and setting up my new site. Although February looks to be a busy month as well, I am encouraged knowing that it is a new month and that the busyness ahead is a result of a lot of exciting things.

Happenings in February:

• I am going to the ProPhoto Expo in Cincinnati (leaving tonight) with my wedding photographer, Michelle Fulton, and a friend of hers. I am so excited for the speakers (Scott Kelby will be there – author of Digital Photography…I learned a lot from those books), the networking with other photographers, and the tradeshow!
• Mike and I are heading up to Somerset for a skiing weekend getaway with my best friend Abbey and her husband, Conlan. Mike and Abbey have never been skiing and for the past 3 years, Conlan and I have been promising that we’d all go together, and this year…it’s finally going to happen (along with a nice massage to end the weekend).
• I’ll be getting some final answers from a cardiologist about my AV block and bradycardia (more to come on that later).
• I’m looking forward to the wedding client meetings we have scheduled this month
• And, I’m crazy excited to be shooting a second engagement session with Brandi and Kevin at Consol Engery Center! We will have access to the locker rooms, the ice and everything in between…should be a great time!

Business Goals for February:

• New equipment purchases (details to come soon)
• Make my sample albums I’ve been putting off for a while now
• Establish consistency
• Connect with new vendors
