Commonly asked questions from brides

This is our busiest time of the year for booking! And although we are already booked up for 2017, our 2018 calendar is starting to fill up, so we thought it’d be a good idea to share some commonly asked questions that we get from brides when they are looking to book us!

Is 7 or 9 hours of coverage enough? – It is! We have found that 7-9 hours of coverage is the perfect amount of time to make sure your entire day is captured from bridal details, getting ready, ceremony, portraits, reception details and dancing. Of course, if you are interested in more coverage than that (like if you were doing a sparkler exit) it is always an option to add additional hours of coverage!

Is it always you and Mike? – 99% of the time, yes, Mike and I will be the photographers on your wedding day. However, if for whatever reason Mike isn’t able to be the second photographer on your wedding day, we would let you know in advance and would guarantee another second professional photographer to take his place.

How much time do we need for pictures on our wedding day? – We typically ask for one and a half hours for pictures between the ceremony and reception. This includes about 15-20 minutes of family formal photos, the bridal party photos, and the bride and groom portraits. If a couple is up for it, we set up a time to sneak out at sunset to get a couple more photos of the bride and groom when the lighting is warm and glowy!

Are all of your pictures candid or will you pose us at all? – ALL of your ceremony and reception pictures will be 100% candid; however, we will pose you for your portraits. A lot of couples say that they love our natural looking portraits, but in order to achieve those types of pictures we will direct you guys to get you into a natural and comfortable pose. From there we will start shooting until we capture that perfect, relaxed shot of you two interacting together!

Do we have to do an engagement session? – While you don’t have to do an engagement session, we do strongly recommend them! An engagement session will really give you an idea of how I pose and photograph so that on your wedding day you guys are super comfortable in front of the camera! It will also give you a chance to let me know if there were any poses or types of photos you loved or didn’t love during your engagement session so I can take that into account when I’m shooting your wedding! Plus, who doesn’t want some casual photos of you and your fiance!
