We thought it’d be fun to share some answers to a lot of questions we’ve been getting asked lately since announcing that we are having a baby girl! Let’s take a look!

Are we sharing the name? We are! We can’t help but already call her by her name, so it’s hard to keep it a secret! Her name is Emily Mae Mish!

How did we come up with her name? Well, to make a long story short, my grandma’s name was Emma. My aunt had always wanted to name her daughter Emma after her mom, but we found out while I was still in high school that she wasn’t able to have kids. With that said, I decided that I would like to name my baby girl Emma if we ever did have a girl (even though I thought of it as an “old person” name since that was all I knew at the time). Mike loved the name as well, but not long after, Emma became so popular that we decided Emily would be a better fit for us. And well, here we are with a baby girl, and we are SO excited to use this name we’ve loved for so many years. We decided on Mae as the middle name since it was my other grandmother’s middle name! I was SO close with both of my grandmothers, so it is incredibly special to be able to use parts of their names for our little girl!

Do we have any nicknames for her?  Alison is excited to call her Emm (her initials) and Mike is already calling her Emmy!

How have I been feeling, in general?  I can’t help but rejoice over the fact that I haven’t been sick one bit during this pregnancy (one of many reasons I ended up convincing myself and Mike that we were having a boy)! Up until this point, it’s been hard to convince myself that I was indeed pregnant after going months without any of those “pregnancy symptoms!” We have been feeling (and seeing) her move more and more each day which we both just die over! Sleeping has started to get more uncomfortable for me, but other than that, no complaints here!

What am I most excited to dress her in?  I can’t wait to dress her in those little baby leggings! I just can’t get over how cute they are! Also, lots of grays, tans and polka dots – you know we love us those neutral colors!

Do we have a nursery theme?  We are going with gray, light pink and navy (with some gold accents)! Simple and clean…with polka dots – of course!
