What a weekend!! For starters on Saturday, Mike and I got to attend the game and cheer on our Pitt Panthers to a win against their long time rival Penn State! We’ve been so excited for this game since they announced it 5 years ago and you better believe we’ve had this date marked on our calendar ever since! We had such a great day out together – we’ll take a date night/day any chance we can get these days!

And for some more exciting news…Emily started potty training! We still can’t quite believe it and are trying to wrap our heads around what all it even means, but first let me rewind a bit. For a couple weeks now we’ve noticed some signs from Em like grabbing the diapers for us to change her after she’d go to the bathroom or tugging at her diaper when it was wet…we’ve also noticed that she is very observant and has started imitating us with certain things. My mom suggested getting a potty just to see what she’d do and the second we took it out of the box and put it on the bathroom floor she went over and sat on it. Well, that was Thursday…Friday she peed on it 5 times and yesterday was the first time she initiated it for us by walking to the bathroom, opening the door and trying to pull down her pants. We asked her if she wanted to go and she replied “ya” – which is her response to any question we ask her these days – but still we were so proud! We have a long way to go and don’t anticipate her being fully potty trained for quite some time (especially with Ethan coming in just a couple months), but it’s been an exciting, hectic, fun, and crazy last couple of days trying to keep up with it all!

We ended our weekend with a perfect ice cream themed first birthday party for our good friend’s daughter and an engagement session in the city!!
