Weekend Shenanigans | Lunches and Playdates

It was a pretty busy weekend for us, but we didn’t mind it one bit. We got to spend time with lots of friends – which we are extra thankful for as we look ahead to a crazy couple of weeks complete with closing on our new house, moving, unpacking and making our new house a home as soon as possible! Friday night Mike, Emily and I had a little family date night at Moe’s – Em and I are cheap dates ;) – and Ikea before getting Em home for bed. We went through and wrote down all the aisle and bin numbers for the furniture we are picking up right after closing on Friday to limit the time we’ll need to spend there so we can get home in time for our fridge and couches to be delivered!!! Is this really happening?! Saturday morning, we stayed in with Em before heading out to lunch with our friends Steve and Krista. After Em’s afternoon nap at home, we went over to Mike’s parents’ house for Chinese! Sunday after church, we made the trip up to Butler to see our friends Abbey and Conlan and their daughter, Addison. Abbey made a delicious blueberry french toast dish complete with bacon, sausage and fruit – my kind of Sunday brunch! It was so much fun watching Addison and Emily play together! Addision was so great with her! The rest of our Sunday was filled with naps, football, Making a Murderer and still trying to decide on an end table!! All in all, it was a great last weekend before we move into our new home!

One last pre-move in #mishcasa update:

  • They prepared our driveway – even though they won’t be able to pave it until spring. We worked with the asphalt guy on the side to have them extend the width our driveway to allow for more parking (and extra room for the basketball hoop)!
  • They painted our front door and stained the railings inside
  • We called and transferred the utilities into our name starting the beginning of next week (definitely made things a little more real)
  • Unfortunately, it seems like they won’t be painting our outside pillars until spring – so we are stuck with the “yellow” pillars until then
  • AND they locked us out! We can still peak in through the windows and have noticed that it is all cleaned up and ready to go!
