Weekend Shenanigans | Valentine’s Day Weekend

It was another great weekend in the books – so let’s take a look, bullet point style!

  • My dad treated me to a Valentine’s Day lunch Friday afternoon. For those of you who don’t know (or don’t follow me on Instagram), for the past 20 years my dad would pick me up from school, work, or now, home with flowers and/or candy and take me out for lunch. He would (and still does) make me feel like the luckiest gal in the world, and I can’t wait for Mike to continue the tradition with our little girl!
  • Friday night, Mike took me out for a delicious Valentine’s Day dinner. The romantic in him wouldn’t tell me where we were going – love that about this kid. Anyways, he took me to Arlecchino’s (the sister restaurant of Alla Famiglia – an amazing restaurant we tried last year for our anniversary!) and it was perfect! The Valentine’s date also included (another) 5 lb bag of Sarris chocolate covered pretzels (for the record, the last bag lasted us 19 days). Here’s to hoping this batch gets us through the rest of this pregnancy!
  • Saturday morning, Mike’s basketball team brought home another win, bringing their record to an impressive 7-0!
  • Later that afternoon, we headed to Seven Springs for our winter maternity session with our close friend and fellow photographer, Amy Wilson! It was a cold one and there was lots of snow and wind, but it was definitely worth it! Worth it to have this time of our lives and of this pregnancy documented!
  • After the session, we made our way back to Pittsburgh and got stuck in a wild snow storm. It ended up taking double the time to get home, but we are just glad we made it safe and sound! We spent the rest of the evening making dinner together followed by some cuddle time on the couch with Gilmore Girl’s on the tv – a perfect end to our last kid-free Valentine’s Day as Mike’s been calling it!
  • Sunday after church, we grabbed lunch with some friends, and we ended our Sunday (and weekend) with some ice cream (accompanied with some of the Sarris hard cap left over from my shower) and a movie!

What did you do with your Valentine this weekend?
