It’s that time of year when we are all cold and wishing we were somewhere tropical basking in the sun! It’s also that time of year that many of our brides are starting to plan their honeymoon, so we wanted to share some helpful tips and some locations that we’ve heard are just perfect for your honeymoon!

• St. Lucia (Sandals Regency La Toc – We may be a bit biased)
• Jamaica (some of our closest friends went to Couples Swept Away and absolutely loved it)
• Cancun and Riviera Maya, Mexico
• Punta Cuna, Dominican Republic
• Oahu and Maui, Hawaii
• Venice, Italy (basically, we are living our dreams through you guys and this honeymoon list)!
• Cruise – Anywhere you’d like!

An all-inclusive is our personal preference and is what we chose to do for our honeymoon…it was so nice that after all those months of planning we could just go somewhere that the decisions were already made and everything was already paid for! Just sit back and relax!!!

Some tips from Mike and Alison:

• Go somewhere that allows a lot of time for relaxing
• At the same time, make sure to go on an adventure or two! Depending on what type of destination you choose, either look into excursions or just go out and explore!
• Pack sunscreen and lots of it (the sunscreen at the resorts are extremely expensive, Mike and I brought 2 bottles on our honeymoon and ran out half way through)
• Bring a camera! Seriously, we treasure the pictures we took on our honeymoon so much!
• Turn off the cell phones! It’s such a good feeling to be disconnected from the world…literally just the two of you! And if you can’t resist the temptation, go international so that it’s not an option!

I got fried on our honeymoon and it resulted in a swollen and peeling forehead! Thank goodness I was with the man who loves me the most and just committed to spending the rest of his life with me no matter what!
