Sometimes you need about 5 inches of snow to remind you that’s it’s not only okay to stay in your pj’s all day, but that it is actually amazing! We left out house once this weekend for dinner and a movie with some of our closest friends and spent the rest of our weekend at home, snowed in, eating Hershey hugs, sipping on latte’s (hot coco for Mike), reading books, dusting off the treadmill and watching Netflix (seriously, whoever created Netflix is a genius)! Especially since our weekends are our busiest days of the month with weddings and sessions, it’s easy for us to book up our open weekends with house projects, seeing friends we haven’t seen in a while and getting things done. While those weekends are good and we leave them feeling accomplished for crossing things off our to-do list and thankful for time spent with old friends, we’ve come to realize the need for weekend’s like this past one. When you are “snowed in” (aka we didn’t feel like shoveling our massive driveway), it’s a free pass for being lazy together, and that is a wonderful feeling (one that I usually don’t allow myself to experience). We built blanket forts, started a puzzle and ate 1 day old (stale) donuts for breakfast, and we loved and laughed our way through every minute of it.
