Merry Monday | Guests and Glasses

Since just about every Monday we do a fun little post about our weekend, we figured it needed a name! Welcome to “Merry Monday,” our fun, cheerful little update posts about our weekend happenings!

Let’s get started…on Friday, I found out that I need glasses! I knew this was coming, but I must say, I was a little caught off guard when I was asked to cover my left eye and read the sign, and I could barely read off the blurry letters in the SECOND ROW! There were at least 6 rows of letters, and I struggled to read the 2nd row AND I got yelled at for trying to squint while doing so! Needless to say, Mike and I picked out these frames that you may or may not see me in from time to time!

Saturday morning started with the usual…Elly running upstairs, jumping on the bed and trying to pull the covers off of whoever is still in bed!

Later that morning we headed to breakfast with Kate, her boy friend Jeff, and Brittany, with her boyfriend John! Kate and Brittany are my two best friends from high school, and it was so much fun hanging out together with all of our guys! The cookies and cream pancakes that Mike ordered were icing on the cake!

On Saturday evening, we were guests at a wedding…just a young married couple enjoying the day’s events and ending the night with our shameful attempts at the electric slide! It provided such a different perspective than almost every other wedding we go to, where our sole purpose is capturing and documenting the day. It was a nice change (although you KNOW we were still thinking photography the whole night)! Our friends Amanda and Rich tied the knot on Saturday, and although she dreamed of a snowy, winter wedding her entire life and ended up with one of the warmest January days I can remember…it was still absolutely BEAUTIFUL (and emotional). For those of you that don’t know, about 5 months ago, Rich was in a tragic accident with a traumatic head injury! His outcome was unknown for a heartbreaking amount of time, and it was a miracle when we all heard the news that he was going to be able to recover! After months of therapy, Rich was able to stand at the front of the church as he watched and waited for the love of his life to walk down the aisle to him! Like I said…beautiful and emotional! I’ve known Amanda since I was born…our parents are the best of friends, and we grew up together! It was a joy seeing her so incredibly happy as she married the man of her dreams!

Mike and I decided to leave our cameras at home and our phones in our pocket throughout the ceremony, since we know way too much about the distractions of having 20+ cell phones in the ceremony pictures as the bride is walking down the aisle! We did, however, sneak our phones out to capture some of the fun details at the reception! Their wedding was a blast…lots of food was eaten, dances were had and tears were shed!

Happy Monday, friends!

Umm. The only thing I have to say is…. cookies and cream pancakes! WHAT! I wish those existed where I live.
Also, your puppy is adorable. =]
