Kenya | A Quick Overview

I can’t believe I am already home, and while I find myself randomly breaking down in tears and missing my friends in Kenya, I am so thankful to be home with Mike! I knew it was going to be a quick trip, but it’s just hard to believe it is already over! People thought I was crazy for going to Kenya for what amounted to a long weekend, but it was so worth it! It was worth it to see Grace’s face (and tears) when I told her that Mike and I would be paying for her secondary schooling. It was worth it to see the very first AIC Zion class 8 graduation. It was worth it to see Ann’s smile and feel her little hand grab mine. And it was worth it to continue building even stronger relationships with the people of the AIC Zion church and school! My heart is full after spending those 4 days in the Mathare Valley! I can’t stop thinking about those kids and their accents, the songs they sang to us, their homes, and their beautiful faces! And this, my friends, is why I am thankful for photography…I was able to capture all of those things through videos and pictures, and I will forever have tangible memories from this trip! I have several hundred pictures that I will be going through the rest of today as I continue to process through everything, and I will be sharing the bulk of them with you all tomorrow (along with more stories and details about our trip), but in the meantime, here are a couple of my favorites…

That’s Ann on the left and Grace on the right!

Beautiful. What a special place. I can’t believe how different it looks only 3.5 years after I was there. So blessed by your heart for Mathare and your continued relationship with the kids. I am so happy to hear that the trip went well.
