Jasmine Star | theFIX D.C.

In 36 hours, I spent a total of 13.5 hours on the MegaBus (and every minute was completely worth it)! The first 5.5 hours on the way to D.C. were smooth-sailing and comfortable. I got to sprawl out over a couple seats and catch up on some blogging, pinning, and Words With Friends (with Mike) for most of the trip. I got to D.C. just after noon and (somehow) found my way through the Metro system and arrived in Columbia Heights. I had an amazing opportunity to meet with other wonderful photographers attending theFIX and got to learn a lot about them and who they are as individuals and photographers. It was a beautiful day in D.C., and I quickly fell in love with the area! I was able to meet up with two girls I graduated from high school with and a friend of mine who lives just blocks away from the Gala Theater (who was on the same trip to Kenya with me two years ago). She is also a fabulous photographer! Just before we went in to theFIX, I had the privilege of meeting an amazing photographer from Virginia who I admire dearly, Katelyn James! She was so sweet, and I am glad I finally had the opportunity to meet her! I’ve been following her blog for a while now and have never been so encouraged and  motivated to move forward in my business!
TheFIX started off with a cocktail hour, walking around meeting other photographers, and getting pictures with Jasmine Star on the cat walk! It was jam-packed and completely sold out! She talked for the first hour or so then there was about an hour+ of Q+A! It was so encouraging hearing other photographer’s questions and seeing that I have similar questions, struggles, and dreams for myself and for my photography business. It was just a fantastic night spent with new and old friends learning from (who I consider) to be simply the best, well-rounded, most popular, absolutely authentic photographer in the world!

I’m looking forward to taking what I learned and applying it to my business! I have a feeling there’ll be some exciting news and new announcements coming soon!

Enjoy some photos from the night!

First up…a hug from Jasmine Star (you all know I’m a hugger)!

Yes, she is wearing a gold sparkly dress, a denim button-up, and a brown belt…and she can totally pull it off!

P.S. The remaining 8 hours on the MegaBus were spent from 10 a.m. till after 6 p.m. on Friday! (Let’s just say the trip home wasn’t as smooth-sailing and comfortable)!
