Today, we thought it would be fun to give you all a glimpse behind the scenes of how we run this business as a husband and wife team! Mostly, we are going to be talking about our roles in the business. It’s no secret that when I started this business, Mike was just my encourager and security blanket. He came to the very first wedding that I photographed solely for support. He didn’t really know how to shoot on manual yet, but we both knew it would be smart to make sure that we had an extra person and an extra camera to be there “just in case.” We’ve worked all twenty plus weddings together as a team, and it quickly went from him just being there for security to him learning a lot, taking great photos (including doing the groom “getting ready” photos on his own), and helping me keep things going with posing and lighting! While he is still my encourager and definitely provides security, he is so much more! Here is a glimpse of each of our roles in the business:
