Last Friday, my mom and I travelled up to State College to see the Canon-McMillan softball team play in the PIAA state championship game! And after 12 intense innings, Canon-McMillan became the 2013 AAAA softball state champions! It was a dream come true for my dad (who has been coaching some of these girls since they were 10 years old), for coach Moeller (who was also my head coach when I played for CM over 6 years ago), for the other coaches on the staff and of course for the girls who have worked so hard to get to this point (they had a record of 25-1 this season)! It was an emotional game as my mom and I sat (and screamed) through each inning, until finally (3 hours later) it ended with a win! It was amazing to see the support of fans that filled the seats of the stadium to cheer on this team who stayed strong and played hard all year long! We are so proud of you girls and couldn’t be more excited for you! Dad, Coach Moeller and Coach Michalak, congratulations on making this 10 year+ long dream a reality! Dad, I love you so much and am thankful for everything you taught me from fielding a ground ball to respecting other teams and how to have fun and work hard at the same time! You are such an inspiration and these girls are as lucky to call you coach as I am to call you dad! Congrats, CM softball! We look forward to cheering you on at another state championship game in the near future!

Alison, What an wonderful job of capturing this touching, special moment for your family – the pictures are incredible! Although we’ve never met, your Dad’s shared several stories about you over the 3 short years that I’ve known him. You’re right on that he’s meant so much for so many.
