Weekend Shenanigans | Birthday, Daniel Tiger and Mother’s Day

It was such a fun weekend over here! I celebrated my 28th birthday on Friday! Every year for my birthday my dad has taken me out to lunch (ever since elementary school when he would bring flowers to school, take me out of class and take me to lunch) and this year he had the sweetest idea of including Emily and taking her to the trolley museum to meet Daniel Tiger!! She loved every second of it including the trip to Shorty’s for hot dogs afterwards and it was the sweetest birthday gift for me to see Em so excited! Friday night Mike and I went out to dinner at Avenue B in Shadyside (it was delicious – I highly recommend it), followed by some ice cream sundaes at Klavon’s in the strip district. Saturday, Mike surprised me with an entire day of pampering all planned out for Mother’s Day – first up was a massage with my friend Becky (our husbands planned that together – how sweet?!), followed by brunch and then a manicure and pedicure! I literally cried when I read the card and saw the itinerary for the day all written out! He is such an amazing husband and cares so much about making me feel loved and appreciated not just on Mother’s Day, but every day! Sunday after church we had a delicious brunch at my parent’s house complete with french toast with lemon curd, mascarpone, berries and all! Then we had Mike’s family over and Mike grilled us some yummy dinner! It was such a great weekend spent with all of my favorite people!

The only photos I took this weekend were of Em at the trolley museum…

And some iphone photos
