Weekend Shenanigans | 4th of July and Boating

This weekend flew by! We were insanely busy around the house Friday and Saturday cleaning and doing some house projects, but our house is looking good, so it was worth it…I guess. Saturday afternoon we headed to our friend’s house for a 4th of July cookout complete with corn hole, amazing picnic food and wine for this mama. Emily and I were looking pretty festive together, I kinda loved it! Sunday was Emily’s first time in the nursery at church and she nailed it! We didn’t think we’d be taking advantage of the nursery at church this soon, but she likes to sleep during worship and then she is wide awake cooing and grunting at our pastor the entire sermon so we figured we’d give it a try! I know it’s only going to get harder the older she is, but for now, it’s a great thing (it was also nice being able to really listen to the sermon again – something we felt like we weren’t really doing when we had Em with us because we were so concern that she was being too loud and distracting the people around us). After church I did a little photo shoot for the couple of the very first wedding I ever photographed. They have a sweet little baby just a month and a half older than Emily now, so I was pretty excited to not only meet their little girl, but take some fun family pictures for them as well. We then spent the afternoon on the River with our friends from life group and had a blast! Mike and I are already dreaming of the day we can own a boat ourselves! It was so fun and relaxing being out on the water and catching up with friends…huge thanks to Grandma and Grandpap Mish for watching Emily! The rest of our Sunday was spent finishing up some more house projects – it just seems to be never-ending! I hope you all had a fabulous 4th of July weekend celebrating with friends and family! Here’s a look at our weekend via my iPhone…
