This past Sunday I had the pleasure of photographing a truly beautiful love story. Ben and Kelly met when they were sophomores in high school at a church retreat called “Breakaway” in Erie. Kelly says that she “noticed” Ben first, describing him as a complete TDH (tall, dark and handsome). She was crushing on him that whole weekend, and they continued to talk a couple times throughout that next year, but nothing really came of it. Until (finally – Kelly says) their senior year in high school at that same retreat, when she says Ben “noticed” her! When he found out she didn’t have a date to her senior prom, he proposed an offer that if she wanted wanted him to, he would take her. She was playing “cool” and told him she’d let him know, even though inside she was freaking out. After the retreat, she called him and accepted the offer, and they went to her prom together. However, they didn’t officially start dating until June 5, 2009 (the day of her high school graduation). After 2 years of dating, Ben proposed and they are planning a November 19, 2011 wedding! We decided to photograph their engagement session at the park where Ben proposed just a couple of months ago.

Ben is now studying at Grove City College to be a high school chemistry teacher, and Kelly just started her job at a bank near Grove City. This couple is such a great example of what it means to love! Their love for each other and for the Lord is contagious!

It was so evident throughout the day that they are head over heels for each other. Mike and I feel very blessed to call them our friends! We are very much looking forward to being a part of their wedding this November, and we couldn’t be happier for these two!
