You may have seen some of these photos on Facebook yesterday, but I wanted to give you some backstory…

Two years ago, I went on a trip to Kenya (yeah, you’re probably thinking…how many more times are we going to hear about Kenya? But hear me out)! David Burke was on the team, documenting the trip with his Nikon D3! At that point, I had always enjoyed taking pictures, but never thought of it as more than a hobby. While we were on the trip, he encouraged me to take a big step and buy my first DSLR camera. He told me where to start and what equipment I should initially purchase, and within 3 weeks of getting back, I had my very first DSLR camera in my hands! I met with him a couple times (with some others interested in learning more as well), and he showed us how to shoot on manual and explained what all those buttons on the camera meant! Fast-foward two years and Mike and I are wedding photographers ourselves…posing in front of his camera for some pictures to use on our new website. God is so good, and it is unbelievable to see the growth and journey He has had us on these past two years!

David has been such an open book with us, encouraging us in our dreams and just being a such an inspiration to us. He never bat an eye with the many questions I’ve sent his way, from which camera body I should upgrade to next or what kind of reception lighting set-up I should look into. I cannot thank David enough for giving me the kick-start I needed to begin this journey of professional photography! I am so grateful for everything he has taught me, and I am excited for the opportunity to share what I have learned with other up and coming photographers!

We wanted to get these pictures taken to use on our new website as a way to show our potential clients who Mike and I are as a couple! And David captured our personalities and love for each other so perfectly! We can’t wait till you guys see our new website…it’s going to be awesome!
